International Relation[ships]

ULABA X Jorge Castañeda

Gooooood morning, ULABA! We’re only three weeks in (barely) and your E-Board is already drowning! Jorge needs help with his Texts & Ideas essay, Victoria can’t figure out Python to save her life, Bimbo wants to grow five inches taller and I still don’t have a job (#pathetic #notmyeboard)!

Alas, all my problems will be resolved once I go to ULABA’s General Meeting and see Fernando’s cute dimples (that’s right, Mario, we finally moved on). My job is to get you all to Tisch Hall, UC-25 on Thursday at 12:30PM, and your job is to make me happy. So… I’ll see you all there!

*Please read ahead for Professional Development updates, details about tomorrow’s meeting, exciting opportunities for Freshies and Sophomores, and other miscellaneous info!

If you’re anything like Felipe (our IT guy), you’ll be thrilled to know that there’ll be free food!

Professional Development

A huge round of applause to our delightful Professional Development team for creating this magnificent tool for all you future HBICs (you can Google what it means if you’re uncultured). Please do not fight over all of these opportunities; like me, there’s enough to go around ;)

Speaking of opportunities… can someone explain what’s going on with recruiting this year? I got this weird email the other day and need some emotional support…

Seriously, what!?

Thursday Meeting

Tomorrow, we’ll be speaking with Jorge Castañeda, a Foreign Minister of Mexico and New York Times columnist, with whom we’ll be speaking about the current state of Latin America’s political, economic, and social climate. Jorge is an accomplished economist and author who will surely provide us with much needed context and knowledge to not only better understand our beautiful region, but to excel in our professional endeavors (cringe, but true)!

Also, he’s an international relations mastermind! Given the happenings of last Thursday, I’d say some of you need some refreshing on successful international relation…ships (cough Javi and Bates cough).

Freshmen & Sophomore Opportunities

To all of our Freshmen and Sophomores who are struggling with adult life, we’ve been there and we maybe totally got you. If you’re interested in getting paired up with an ULABA E-Board member, please fill out this form by Sunday.

Now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for: the ULABA Engagement Council application! As a reminder, these positions are open to Freshmen and Sophomore who want to gain more experience with ULABA and learn more about the club. More information about the positions open to Freshmen and Sophomores can be found on the following form! Please fill it out with your NYU email address.
